Casa Green Golf Club opened to grand acclaim on Saturday 20th April 2013. The first new 18 hole facility to open in the Grand Casablanca region in the last 90 years, Casa Green Golf Club forms part of the large CasaGreenTown real estate development, built by Compagnie Générale Immobilière (CGI).
The course designed by Jeremy Pern, the internationally renowned English golf course architect, combines links like fairway shaping with dry water beds (Oueds) and desert style vegetation giving the result a particular Moroccan flavour. The property also includes an advanced academy area with 4 learning holes, an enormous putting green and state of art teaching facility.
The official ribbon cutting ceremony was led by the Moroccan Minister of Tourism Dr. Lahcen Haddad, M. Anas Alami of CDG and M. Ali Ghannam of CGI, releasing 72 eager golfers desperate to test their skills on this magnificent new golf course. The evening event, managed by Hors Limites Organisation (HLO), “revealed” the course with over 3,500 candles and a sound and light display that was truly spectacular.
More than 300 invited guests and dignitaries watched the reveal of the golf course from the terrace of the magnificent clubhouse, which has an amazing view out over 15 of the holes and is set to become one of the sought after reservations in Casablanca.
A highlight of the night with the guests was a musical fusion of Stephen Dewar, the renowned Scottish piper, performing as a lone piper and then joining with a group of traditional Gnawa musicians from Marrakech, symbolising the collaboration of Braemar Golf St Andrews (the golf management company) and CGI, the developer.
