Carus Green Golf Club has opened its stunning new golf centre, cementing its position as one of the North West of England’s finest golfing facilities. The Kendal based club, which opened in 2003 under the expert guidance of Graham Curtin, has undergone a considerable transformation since then, morphing into an all-out day experience, incorporating a stunning 18-hole parkland golf course with recently remodelled PGA greens, an award winning contemporary clubhouse with luxurious function suite, a spacious bar and restaurant and the Gary Wolstenholme academy.
The new golf centre houses the club’s former shop, with upmarket brands such as Wolsey, an addition to the current range, the new club fitting centre and an extension to their driving range, which now offers 18 bays. Fitted out by Southport company, DPI, the new facility took just four months to build and is perfectly situated on the edge of the club’s car park, a few yards from the first tee.
As Academy manager, Lee Edwards explains, “The new golf centre is now the nucleus of Carus Green and combines shop, club fitting centre and academy into one. The club is constantly evolving and the new golf centre is just the latest addition to the Carus offering. We have new brands, more bays on the driving range and an artificial outdoor long game area. The vision has always been to position ourselves as the North West’s premier golfing destination and these new facilities have enabled us to do just that.”
Carus Green is an ideal location for short breaks and golfing holidays in the Lake District.
