Booming Branston unveils new leisure facilities

Branston Golf & Country Club in Staffordshire has opened a new health club, featuring a 17m swimming pool, 2,000sq ft gym and a creche, as part as the latest investments in the Burton-based club’s facilities.

The club says that is has seen golf club membership rise by 14% and health club membership by 20% since 2021, with the latest enhancements helping to provide members with improved facilities across the board.

The new facilities, which resulted in the creation of 10 new jobs, were funded through a £2.4m business loan from HSBC, which enabled the club’s owners to carry about the improvements in one phase.

Ben Laing, the club’s managing director, said: “The support from HSBC has enabled us to extend our investment over a longer period. Consolidating the investment in one package will enable us to drive the rate and volume of all revenue streams, resulting in steady and consistent growth across all business sections. As we operate in the premium segment of the market, this investment has ensured that we can deliver the highest quality of service and facilities to all our members and customers.”

Golf facilities at the club include an 18-hole championship course, a 9-hole academy course, and driving range and an adventure putting course.
