A £8.5m hotel has opened in the grounds of Tytherington Golf and Country Club in Macclesfield just as England emerges from its second national lockdown.
Originally due to launch this spring, the project was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Tytherington Hotel, which is set in the grounds of the popular Tytherington Golf and Country Club, was designed by hotel consultants Sparc Studio and offers 65 ensuite rooms with 24-hour room service.
All guests have access to the restaurant and bar at the neighbouring Tytherington club, as well as its health and fitness facilities, swimming pool, day spa and 18-hole championship golf course.
This is the eighth hotel for the Club Company, which operates 15 country clubs as well as luxury holiday lodges.
Jamie McDonald, who has 30 years’ experience running some of the finest resorts in the North West, has been appointed General Manager of the new hotel, which has created more than 30 new jobs for local people.
He said: “We are delighted to finally open The Tytherington in what has been a very difficult year. With demand for staycations soaring, we believe there will be strong demand for a premium hotel in the area. It’s the perfect base for a golf or spa break or for exploring Cheshire and the stunning Peak District.”
“The safety of our guests and our team is paramount. We have put rigorous safety and cleaning procedures in place to ensure the hotel is Covid-secure and are already taking bookings.”
