Cleveland Golf/Srixon has announced that VPAR Golf Scoring will be the official scoring system for the its two day invitational event at Turnberry in August.
The Cleveland Golf/Srixon Invitational takes place on 6th & 7th August 2012 on the famous Ailsa and Kintyre Course’s at Turnberry just two weeks after the Senior Open Championship is played over the links. It is an opportunity to reward 45 club professionals and their chosen amateur partner for their custom.
The format for the event is a 36-hole Betterball Stableford with the professionals playing off scratch and amateurs playing off three-quarters handicap. With a prize fund of £5000 for professionals for the champion, plus Cleveland Golf and Srixon prizes galore, the event will be hotly contested.
VPAR’s interactive, game-changing technology provides golfers with a real-time leaderboard as they are playing. Capturing all the excitement and adrenaline of the game on easy-to-use handheld scorepads, players can track their progress, check out the competition, and see what’s happening elsewhere on the course as the game unfolds.
The competitors will be treated like VIPs from the moment they arrive at the Turnberry Golf Resorts. They will enjoy a 2 night overnight stay in the 5-star hotel with breakfast and a gala dinner. Last year’s winner Ben Clayton from Hindhead Golf Club said: “As part of the experience the Invitational competitors will have the added benefit of access to the Cleveland Golf/Srixon European Tour truck on the driving range throughout the event, giving them the same high level of service that Tour professionals receive.”
