It may have been strange times for the golf industry during the COVID-19 crisis, but the support and advice given to UK Golf Federation members over the last 3 months has clearly been well received. In fact, it has been so well received that membership had jumped to over 600 by the end of June. The good news of the UK Golf Federation’s support services obviously travelled fast!
Doug Poole – CEO of the UK Golf Federation believes: “The COVID lockdown allowed many golf facilities time to look at their business, operation and their place in the golfing market; we as a Federation have been supporting them nationally with the key industry stakeholders and helping to create growth in participation and membership.”

Whilst our key message is to grow golf participation through open access to golf, the Co-vid lock-down has seen us helping many of our members with the challenges of operating in a unique and difficult environment. I am proud of how our members have adapted to these challenges.”
The UKGF is a not-for-profit organisation now with over 600 member facilities whose aims are to represent and support the interests of proprietary, commercial golf courses and driving ranges in the UK. It takes a key role in providing leadership in discussions with Government and golf’s governing bodies on all matters that impact commercially minded golf facilities.
