TurfWorks: a transatlantic hit

After the successful launch of TurfWorks International in the latter half of 2005 the modular interchangeable cassette system was shown for the first time at the recent Golf Industry Show in Atlanta and has undoubtedly found its niche in the market place

The astonishing versatility of the TurfWorks™ International Fine Turf Greens Maintenance System is helping greenkeepers and course superintendents to manage their courses with precision and maximum cost-effectiveness.
At the heart of the TurfWorks™ product is a modular cassette system that fits on to the cutting reels of popular brands of greens triples and lightweight fairway mowers. A host of different cassettes are available enabling grounds professionals throughout the world to undertake key greens maintenance tasks with their existing machines.
Cassettes available include a verti-cutter, a vibrating brush for integrating top-dressing, a sarel roller, a star spiker, a scarifier and a rotary grooming brush. The system’s Ultra Grooma cassette removes unsightly poa annua seed heads before this undesirable grass species can establish, encouraging healthy turf growth.
All attachments can be fitted in seconds and adjusted without the use of tools. By utilising Turfworks’ Wrenchless Height Adjustment Mechanism, cassettes can be set to the preferred depth of operation with just a ‘Turn & Click’.
A particular plus-point is that the robust construction of the TurfWorks system means it is the only one in the world to incorporate an effective vibrating roller system, achieved by offset weights on the rotating shaft. Vibrations of an optional 83MHz frequency are transmitted to front and rear rollers on the True Level Vibro Roller cassette. This generates a smoothing effect to ‘iron out’ greens turf, creating the consistent, faster putting surface demanded by today’s golfers.
After the great interest shown in the system at the recent BTME exhibition a number of golf clubs in the United Kingdom have made the decision to purchase the TurfWorks TM system, from their local dealer, Campey Turf Care Systems, as straight away they could see the benefits, not only in the design and engineering of the product but in the ways that it will benefit their course.
TurfWorks was shown at the recent Golf Industry Show in Atlanta. One of only a handful of British companies to exhibit at the American show, the response was overwhelming.
Commenting after the show, director Simon Gumbrill said, “The Atlanta show was excellent for us with the superb standard of superintendents and dealers who visited our booth. We were able to confirm sales and appoint some new dealers for the USA and for other parts of the world. The TurfWorks product shines with outstanding build quality and will out perform any other product on fine turf, it is the most versatile turf maintenance system available.”
