Troon Golf® has announced that the Abu Dhabi Golf Club (ADGC) and The Montgomerie, Dubai, both Troon Golf managed facilities, were among the top prize winners at the recent Middle East Golf Awards.
ADGC, home to the European PGA Tour’s Abu Dhabi Golf Championship, won the coveted ‘Golf Club of the year’ as well as the award for ‘Best 18 holes’. In recent times the club has consistently received rich praise for its layout and course conditioning from some of the world’s finest players and is central to the vision of promoting the UAE capital as an international golf destination. Now, having scooped the sport’s top regional accolade, it is firmly cemented on the UAE ‘must play’ list.
“These accolades pay tribute to the resounding success we have had at Abu Dhabi Golf Club in the last year,” said DJ Flanders, general manager, ADGC. “We started 2007 aiming to establish the National as the Middle East’s top course, and this award goes a long way to confirming that. The Montgomerie, Dubai, one of the UAE’s most exclusive venues and another Troon Golf managed facility also won the prestigious award for ‘Best Service’. The Colin Montgomerie-designed venue has some of the most advanced facilities, boasting a boutique hotel, three restaurants, golf academy, nine-hole par-three course and an 18-hole championship golf course.
