Troon Golf, the leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing is proud to announce its partnership with Audubon International and its Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses (ACSP) and Audubon Signature Program.
Audubon International is a leading environmental organization dedicated to educating, assisting, and inspiring people to protect and sustain the earth’s natural resources. Its ACSP and Signature Programs are award-winning education and certification programs that help golf courses protect the environment and preserve the natural heritage of the game of golf.
With 190 Troon Golf-managed courses located around the world in urban and suburban areas, opportunities abound to provide ecosystem services such as wildlife habitat preservation, storm water retention, runoff filtration and heat-island effect reduction. While a large number of the company’s domestic courses are already registered in the ACSP and Audubon Signature Program, Troon Golf has launched a company-wide initiative to have its entire portfolio of courses certified through these programs.
“We are excited about working closely with Audubon International,” stated Jeff Spangler. “They have long been the leader in providing guidance in creating environmentally friendly golf courses and sustainability programs.”
“We are thrilled that Troon Golf has decided to make this commitment to promoting environmental stewardship through the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses,” stated Kevin Fletcher, Audubon International executive director. “We look forward to working with them to help improve efficiency, minimize potentially harmful impacts of golf operations, and enhance the valuable natural areas and wildlife habitats that golf courses provide.”
Headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, Troon Golf is the world’s largest golf management company, overseeing operations at more than 190 courses located in 32 states and 32 countries, including England, Scotland and Dubai.
