Wilson Golf, the company which has won more Major titles (61) than any other golf manufacturer with its Wilson Staff irons, is introducing an ultra-modern new truck this season to support its growing number of players on the European Tour.
The 18-ton Mercedes Tour truck is nearly twice the size of the previous model at over 11 metres long and houses all the latest club-making technology and custom-fit facilities needed for its line up of top Tour players led by three-time Major champion Padraig Harrington.
Branded in the striking Wilson Staff red, grey and white colours, the truck will make its first appearance at the start of April and provide support for other Staff players such as former Open champion Paul Lawrie, Englishmen Steve Webster and Anthony Wall, plus Sweden’s Fredrik Ohlsson and two-time Challenge Tour winner Andreas Hartø from Denmark during his rookie season.
Leading events in the UK where the vehicle will be present include the GOLF LIVE event at The London Club, the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth and the Dunhill Links tournament in Scotland, plus The Open Championship at Royal St. George’s.
Wilson Golf, which enjoyed a significant market share increase in sales of Wilson Staff irons across Europe last year particularly in the UK, will also introduce the new truck to golfers in the UK, France and Germany at club demo events designed to highlight the benefits of custom-fitting. A plasma screen that can be fitted outside at events is among the hi-tech presentation equipment on board.
The truck will also be seen this summer at similar Wilson Staff events in Denmark, Holland, Finland, Sweden, Portugal and Ireland, including a 15-day tour of top golf courses in Scandinavia.
“This investment in a new and larger truck demonstrates the commitment of Wilson Golf to the European Tour and maintaining the highest levels of service to our increasing number of talented players,” said Doug Wright, Business Director of Wilson Golf in Europe.
