Top greenkeeping college renews Toro deal

In a deal valued at £350,000 Elmwood College has renewed its five-year exclusive partnership agreement with Toro for golf course maintenance equipment

Europe’s premier seat of golf learning, Elmwood College, in Scotland, has renewed its five-year exclusive partnership agreement with Toro for golf course maintenance equipment, in a deal valued at £350,000.

Director of Elmwood Golf Developments, John Quinn, who oversees the management of the college’s 18-hole course, restaurant/clubhouse and consultancy/contracting operations, said: “Toro machinery is perceived as the highest quality, and Elmwood, too, is of the highest quality – so we go hand in hand. We renewed the deal because the reliability of the whole range of Toro products, plus the back-up we receive, ensures that we can maintain our own high standards and offer the best in the industry.”

The famous college offers a complete programme of training to the whole golf industry. This includes courses in golf course management, golf greenkeeping and golf facilities management from National Certificate to HND level.

To accommodate degree students the college has set up partnerships with universities all over the country. Plans are in place to expand this marketplace worldwide and partnerships already exist in China.

The college is serviced by local Toro dealer Henderson Grass Machinery. “It’s vital that we have support we can rely on, and this is something Toro does very well,” added John.
