Teeofftimes.co.uk, the UK’s largest tee-time booking service, has forged a key partnership with Bauer Media to promote tee-time bookings through popular golfing consumer website Todaysgolfer.co.uk.
The strategic tie-up with one of Europe’s largest media owners – whose portfolio includes Today’s Golfer and Golf World – will allow an increasing number of golfers to enjoy the convenient, easy-to-use benefits of booking tee times online.
More than 100,000 golfers have already used Teeofftimes.co.uk in 2011 – exceeding the number who took advantage of the system during the whole of 2010. Allied to this, the number of golfers using Teeofftimes.co.uk has risen by 130% year on year in its four years of operation.
Steve Hemsworth, Managing Director of Teeofftimes.co.uk’s parent company, Golfbreaks.com, said: “This partnership presents a fantastic opportunity to reach an even broader range of golfers and offer them simple, yet diverse, ways of booking tee times.
“Coupled with plans to grow our portfolio to more than 1,000 clubs over the next 18 months, this important tie-up will allow new clubs to embrace the online bookings arena and give consumers even more choice, all at their fingertips.”
Steve Prentice, Managing Director, Sport, Bauer Media, said: “It’s our ambition to make Todaysgolfer.co.uk the most comprehensive online course guide in the UK. We’ve seen exceptional growth this year – so bolstering it with the Teeofftimes.co.uk booking service makes absolute sense.”
As an example of the extra-value choice now available, golfers will have the option to use the co-branded Tee Off Times section on the Todaysgolfer.co.uk website, purchase 2-FORE!-1 vouchers online or through the 2-FORE!-1 SMS facility. These options will also be promoted through Bauer Media’s leading golfing titles, Today’s Golfer and Golf World, to a combined readership of 422,000* – in addition to the 178,042 unique users of Todaysgolfer.co.uk**.
Commenting on the evolution of the Teeofftimes.co.uk online booking service, Steve Hemsworth said: “It has grown and adapted to embrace the new ways golfers are now looking to book tee times. For example, we have seen an increasing number (68%) of bookings from customers keen to play on the same or next day, as well as from those (71%) wanting to play on weekdays.”
