Sunwise launches high-quality, low-cost performance eyewear

8.33am 24th August 2009 - Corporate

After success in cricket, running and Formula 1, award-winning British eyewear brand Sunwise® reveals its plans today to launch a low-price, high-quality performance sunglasses range into the UK golf market.

The new 2010 Sunwise (www.sunwise.co.uk) golf range – available to forward order from September 2009 – will create a fundamental shift in what golfers demand from specialist sports eyewear, surpassing expectations by breaking price barriers without any sacrifices in quality, comfort, style or performance.

Having created compelling sales stories with its Sunwise brand in other sports, Oxford-based company Trans-Global Sports Ltd – named New Exporter of the Year in 2007 by UK Trade and Investment – has now transferred its expertise to golf by introducing a distinctive initial range of styles for golfers boasting panoramic, high-definition quality lenses in flexible, lightweight half-frames which improve a golfer’s vision in all light conditions.

The British company, which promises a long-term core commitment to “affordable quality”, will direct Sunwise messaging at the golfer focusing on the brand’s great-looking choice of designs, plus low weight, high comfort and safety, optical performance on the golf course and – crucially – high quality throughout the range at a very low price.

As evidence of this, Sunwise launches into golf with a high-specification eyewear range priced from £18.99 to £24.99. Every style has lightweight, highly durable frames which are perfect for the sport, offering excellent protection from the elements, including 100% of UVA and UVB light.

And Sunwise’s superior high-quality optical lenses enable golfers to see their ball – and the contours of the green – more clearly whatever the weather.

In the media, ‘The Times’ newspaper called Sunwise ‘the sunglasses for the sports enthusiast’, while ‘The Independent on Sunday’ gave Sunwise its ‘Best Buy’ rating.

The Sunwise brand proposition to golf retailers is based around impressive profit margins; an excellent sales package which includes comprehensive service provision; dedicated sales agents giving nationwide coverage; a wide variety of point-of-sale display materials; and the back-up of a fully integrated advertising, PR and promotional campaign.
