British golf trolley manufacturer Stewart Golf has joined forces with the Department for International Trade for its ‘Exporting is GREAT’ campaign by becoming an Export Advocate.
Stewart Golf has been exporting for many years, and in 2018 the company became a net exporter for the first time, with 51% of the company’s production being shipped to 30 countries, including Canada, Taiwan, the USA and a number of European countries.
DIT’s Exporting is GREAT campaign, which launched in 2015, aims to raise awareness of the benefits of exporting amongst UK businesses, inspiring more companies to consider trading internationally, or to expand their current reach, by celebrating and promoting the export success of businesses across the country.
At the heart of the campaign is its Export Champion Community: everyday businesses of all shapes and sizes from around the UK that are proudly selling overseas. They form a nationwide network of UK companies that are ambassadors for exporting, sharing success stories, offering practical advice, and leading by example.
Stewart Golf CEO Mark Stewart said: “Great Britain is our home, and we, of course, plan to grow here; but our brand and innovative products draw interest from golfers all over the world.”
Stewart Golf recently delivered a fleet of X9 Follow models to a golf club in Taiwan, joining courses in South Korea and Austria. The company set up a US subsidiary to work alongside its existing distributor, focussing on building awareness of the Stewart Golf brand and key products including their flagship X9 Follow.
Stewart continued: “Our US sales have doubled every year since we established the business three years ago, and this trend looks set to continue in 2019 as our marketing programs start to take effect. We’re really proud to be joining the ‘Exporting is GREAT’ campaign. Seeing machines that we build in Great Britain bring joy to golfers all over the world is rewarding in so many ways and I hope we can help inspire companies in other industries to start exporting.”
