St. Andrews Golf Art, which launched its online gallery (www.standrewsgolfart.com) in November, has added a new artist, Margaret Evans, to its select stable of internationally noted talent.
Evans, who is highly regarded for her interpretive pastels, is one ofScotland’s leading contemporary artists. The subject of her original work being made available by St. Andrews Golf Art is the Gleneagles Resort, where the 2014 Ryder Cup will be contested. Evans’s Shinafoot Studios in Perthshire, site of her recently openedGolfArtGallery, is near Gleneagles, whose three courses are the inspiration for her golf-themed pieces.
For 25 years, Evans’s Shinafoot Studios has served as a popular centre for art courses and workshops. The artist maintains a busy international schedule of “paintaways” and tutorials.
In 2012, Evans will conduct “paintaways” in theScottishHighlands,Veniceand the South of France, and her U.S. teaching venues will include South Carolina, New York’s Hudson River Valley and Colorado. Evans is a pastel “ambassador” for the U.K. and she is a respected member of several worldwide pastel societies.
