Ransomes Jacobsen’s sales director Rupert Price says further distribution in Sweden is part of a plan to grow the business aggressively and increase market share across Europe.

Effective August 1, 2012, Ransomes Jacobsen, the Ipswich-based turf maintenance equipment manufacturer and Textron Inc. (NYSE:TXT) company, will increase its distribution network across Sweden with the addition of two dedicated distributors in the south and north of the country.

LHS Maskiner AB (LHS) ofSundsvall, has been a Ransomes Jacobsen sub-dealer for 22 years and will now be responsible for thenorthern   territorycovering the counties of Norrbotten, Västerbotten, Jämtland, Västernorrland and parts of Gävleborg. Founded in 1990 by Lars Huss and Lars Stenberg, the main focus of the business is the sale of professional construction and lawn and garden equipment to golf courses, municipalities, cemeteries and housing.

Gräsvårdsmaskiner i Malmö AB (GVM) was established in 1984 and is owned by Jon Fundahn, whose father Olle has worked with the Ransomes brand since 1958. Operating from modern premises in Malmö, they have wide experience of the golf and municipal sectors through their Bernhard and Kubota franchises. Their territory covers Skåne, Blekinge, Öland and parts of Halland and Småland.

Situated between the newly appointed distributors in the central area of the country is the incumbent distributor, Svenningsens Turfcare AB. Part of the Danish owned Svenningsens Group, they will concentrate their activities across the central belt providing enhanced levels of sales and service support to their established customer-base.

Commenting on the strengthened distribution, Rupert Price, sales director at Ransomes Jacobsen said, “The addition of further distribution inSwedenis part of a plan that is being implemented across our distribution network as we grow the business aggressively and increase our market share acrossEurope.

“To do this we have identified the need for more localised representation on the ground where customers can access our products and services more quickly; this will also provide us with the ability to respond faster to their needs and enhance the entire customer experience.

“Svenningsens have done a great job for us in Swedenfor nearly 30 years and will continue to do so, albeit in more compact and concise territory. The new distributors have been challenged to increase our coverage in a territory that is an important facet of our business. I’m confident that we now have three companies inSwedenthat will deliver success to our business, going forward.”
