ProQuip acquired by The Edinburgh Woollen Mill group

ProQuip, the preferred weatherwear supplier to the 2010 European Ryder Cup Team and a company synonymous with ultra-lightweight and supremely soft waterproof, breathable golf clothing, today announces the sale of the business to The Edinburgh Woollen Mill group.

The announcement heralds the start of a new era for ProQuip which will continue to develop high quality golf garments featuring exclusive, innovative fabrics and build on industry-leading customer service with its wide network of green-grass club professionals and golf specialist outlets.

A spokesman for the EWM group said: “ProQuip has an unrivalled reputation with club professionals and is committed to offering first class support and service to all green-grass and specialist outlets. ProQuip will continue to be a high quality weatherwear brand and with increased new product developments and extensive sourcing capability and distribution networks, the brand will be further strengthened going forward.”

In order to give consumers the very best weatherwear technology, ProQuip is planning to launch a new top-of-the-range waterproof suit in the Autumn made from an ultra-lightweight plain weave fabric with two-way stretch throughout and was designed and developed from a suit manufactured for the 2008 European Ryder Cup team, captained by Sir Nick Faldo.
