A new premium gin brand with links to the Ryder Cup has celebrated its official launch, following a dedicated event held in partnership with the Confederation of Professional Golf (CPG).

Created in the historic golfing destination of St. Andrews and distilled using the finest Sicilian ingredients including almond, creamy lemon-citrus and ginger, Old Tom Gin 1821 brings its customers the best of Italy, grounded by its Scottish roots.

Hosted at the CPG’s international headquarters at the Centurion Club in St. Albans, Hertfordshire, the launch event cemented the brand’s ties with the golf industry and commenced with a competitive round, followed by an Old Tom Gin 1821 drinks reception, three-course dinner and prize giving.

Guests included Old Tom Gin 1821 brand ambassadors and renowned golf professionals, Gary Evans and Carly Booth, together with representatives from the CPG and the organisation’s suite of commercial partners.

Following impressive feedback regarding the unique taste of the premium gin, Centurion Club has become the first golf resort in Europe to stock both the exclusive Ryder Cup limited-edition and new ‘Clubhouse’ gin, with founder and CEO, Giorgio Cozzolino, now focused on securing additional commercial partnerships with golf clubs across the country.

Giorgio confirmed: “Following many years of hard work perfecting the taste, quality and packaging for Old Tom Gin 1821, it was incredible to see my vision come to life at our very own launch event in partnership with the CPG. Old Tom Gin 1821 isn’t just a gin, it’s a brand and a lifestyle, which combines the best of my homeland in Italy with my roots in Scotland. To see so many guests combine their love of golf with our premium gin is genuinely a dream come true and I look forward to expanding our presence within UK golf clubs over the coming months.”

Richard Glover, Commercial Director of Old Tom Gin 1821, added: “Both Giorgio and I are excited to be working with the iconic Centurion Club and are delighted for them to be the first venue across Europe to sell both our Ryder Cup limited-edition and ‘Clubhouse’ gin. Following the successful launch, we are now focused on continuing to build our business strategy which is underpinned by partnerships and people. We are already in some exciting talks with both potential retailers and wholesale partners – so watch this space.”

Recently confirmed as an official supplier of all gin and gin-based cocktails at the Ryder Cup in 2023, Old Tom Gin 1821 is now available to pre-order via the brand’s dedicated ecommerce store.

Discussing its new partnership with Old Tom Gin 1821, Michael Duffy, General Manager at Centurion Club, said: “We were delighted to host the Old Tom Gin 1821 launch event last week at Centurion Club. The quality of their products was exceptional, so we are very pleased to become the first golf club within the UK to stock their gin range. We look forward to sharing the premium taste and experience of Old Tom Gin 1821 with our members and guests.”

Having already attained credibility within the high-end drinks market, Old Tom Gin 1821 is set to become the gin label of choice for consumers at prestigious venues and iconic sporting events worldwide.
