As demand for PowaKaddy products in Europe reaches unprecedented levels this year, the market leader in golf cart technology and development is gearing up for even further exponential growth in 2004 by announcing a new UK sales force structure, hot on the heels of the recent factory expansion.
Earlier this year PowaKaddy signified its intent to maintain and improve service levels during this period of huge sales growth. At the European headquarters in Sittingbourne, Kent, PowaKaddy opened a new 16,000 sq foot facility adjacent to the current building. The new facility has enhanced the company’s dispatch disciplines enabling same day despatch on UK orders received before 2pm and more efficient consolidation of overseas shipping. The extra space has also facilitated a new production line in the main building and created space for a new dedicated after sales department. In addition, PowaKaddy has almost doubled sales support staff to form a new fully focused, dynamic internal sales support function.
More recently the UK sales force has been strengthened with the promotion of Simon Homer to a new UK sales manager’s position. Simon’s promotion is recognition of the outstanding job he has done for 5 years as an area sales manager and his vacant sales area will be split into two new sales positions to help service the needs of PowaKaddy’s ever growing UK retail account base.
The Scottish region will be covered by the newly appointed Douglas Pollock, who joins the company with a wealth of golf industry experience having previously worked for a number of golf brands including Masters, Pro Quip and Spalding. An announcement on another new appointment for the Midlands sales area is imminent.
Simon will report directly to UK sales and marketing director David Wells and his new responsibilities will be to manage the UK field sales team and the internal sales support function and is relishing the task ahead, “Put simply we are doing more and more business with more and more people and we are continually evolving our infrastructure to deal with this,” he said. “We have bold sales targets for 2004 and beyond and I am looking forward to working with the entire sales team to meet our goals.”
With global sales up 22.8% year on year at the end of September, a new younger audience embracing the brand, expanding export markets and a new 2004 product line up launched to critical acclaim at the recent Golf Europe show in Munich, PowaKaddy’s David Wells feels the new structure will enable PowaKaddy to manage the huge anticipated demand in 2004.
“It is vitally important that we maintain and even exceed our current excellent service levels as we move into the biggest growth phase in PowaKaddy’s history,” he said. “PowaKaddy is one of the hottest brands in golf right now and our continued investment in the sales force and service function underlines our commitment to match the quality of the product and high level of demand with first class service both pre and after sales.”
PowaKaddy International Ltd is owned by European Golf Brands, the world’s largest manufacturer of electronic golf trolleys.
