PGA Collection Customised clubs for coaching

1.57am 3rd October 2012 - Corporate

The PGA Collection run by golf professionals Richard Jewell and Peter Darnell have devised a novel way to help their fellow pros increase their retail business through their teaching programmes.

As Richard explained: “Like many good ideas it is simple but effective. Many pros offer group coaching throughout the season, often initially loaning a club to their pupil in the hope that they will purchase equipment from them at a later date. However, as is often the case, the pupil turns up for their next lesson with an ill fitting box set purchase from a local sports store.

“Our concept, which has already been adopted by several of our PGA colleagues, is to supply a custom made PGA Collection 7 Iron at a relatively small cost which can be included in the group lesson charge.

“At the time of booking the pupil would be asked simple customisation questions, i.e. height, hand size, age, etc, this would be relayed to Sigma Golf who would customise the 7 iron prior to their first lesson.

“As the pupil progresses there is every chance that they will purchase further customised clubs to match the 7 iron. Most importantly the professional can ensure that the pupil starts with equipment that is most suited to them.”

Customised PGA Collection 7 irons are available from Sigma Golf starting from under £5.
