textronsolutions.com, the new look website from Textron Golf Turf and Specialty Products, was launched at BTME last week. Extensively revised and updated, it replaces the previous site and has been redesigned to make navigation easier.
Malcolm McKee, Textron’s IT Manager commented, “This extensive redesign has enabled us to make the site more customer friendly and easy to navigate around. We have also been able to achieve the same corporate appearance of other Textron Golf and Turf sites designed in the USA, while at the same time expanding the range of products. We have incorporated our sweeper range and included all the up-to-date details of each product range following the re-branding of Jacobsen and Ransomes last year. Additional features include a literature request form and a customer survey document.
“The ‘solutions’ theme has been adopted to demonstrate to customers, both current and prospective, that Textron have the products and expertise to provide solutions for their business needs across a range of sectors.”
The Home Page displays icons for each of Textron’s core brands – Jacobsen Golf, Ransomes Municipal, Cushman golf utility vehicles, E-Z-GO golf cars and industrial vehicles and Ryan turf maintenance equipment, together with a further icon for the Ransomes sweeper range.
Clicking on any of these icons will take the browser directly into the individual product range and a second click will bring up the details of the selected product. For those who are not aware of specific brands there are active buttons at the foot of the home page that can provide access by product sector – Turf machinery, Sweepers, Golf vehicles and Industrial vehicles.
Further buttons on the home page provide access to leasing and financing information, special offers and Textron news where all the latest press information can be found. A final button gains access to two feedback pages, one for customer comments and suggestions about new equipment and the other relating to the design of the site.
There are links to other group websites and to textronturfdirect.com, Textron’s online parts ordering system. Focusing on the company’s Quick Reference Parts Catalogues, this site enables customers to obtain parts direct, streamlining the ordering system. Eventually it will include the entire product range for a world-wide audience.
Malcolm McKee concluded, “Our customers are becoming more and more web literate as the months pass by. We have a duty to provide as much information as possible in order to create an environment where it is very easy for them and us to conduct business, in any way that the customer wants.”
