An exclusive new agreement has been reached between Italian tailoring experts Canali and Ryder Cup Europe for the Milan based company to supply formal wear to The European Ryder Cup Team and official party at this year’s Ryder Cup taking place at Valhalla Golf Club, Kentucky, in September 2008 and at The 2010 Ryder Cup to be staged at The Celtic Manor Resort, South Wales, in October 2010.

In their role as a preferred supplier to The European Team, Canali will supply all formal wear during the event, including outfits for the Gala Dinner, the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, and the attire for the team and official party to travel to and from The Ryder Cup.

Canali, whose clothing is sold in over 1,000 selected stores in 80 countries worldwide, will also supply the trousers for The European Team to wear on the course in the days of competition itself, and will seek to develop a bespoke range of goods to commemorate their involvement in The 2010 Ryder Cup.

Canali are currently expanding their international operation, with numerous store openings across the globe. The company currently enjoys a high profile in North America as well as European markets and Asia.

Richard Hills, European Ryder Cup director, said, “Ryder Cup Limited is delighted to extend its relationship with Canali, a world class brand renowned for its innovative design, style and excellence in tailoring. The service provided to Ian Woosnam’s team and the official party in 2006 was the best we have experienced and provided everyone involved with the very best in clothing and apparel.”

Paolo Canali, marketing director of Canali, said, “We are very honoured to be part of one of the most prestigious golf tournaments and to extend our relationship with The Ryder Cup in both 2008 and 2010. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to heighten our relationships with some of the best sportsmen of today.”
