John Deere dealership Masons Kings has been appointed to take on the sale, service and support of John Deere’s full line of professional turf and homeowner equipment ranges in Cornwall, previously handled by Cornwall Farmers Ltd. This follows last December’s announcement that Cornwall Farmers was selling its agricultural machinery business in the county.
Brand new premises have been opened at Winnards Perch, St Columb, in the centre of Cornwall, trading under the new name Masons Kings. All the sales, parts and service staff from the Cornwall Farmers turf equipment division, previously based at Roche, have been taken on by the new dealership. The new Masons Kings business name now also includes the dealership’s main branch at Chudleigh in Devon (pictured, with the turf division staff), and the Kings branch at Dulverton in Somerset that was acquired by Masons in 2009.
Masons has been a machinery dealership for 36 years, a John Deere agricultural dealer for over 26, and first established its John Deere professional turf division in 2007. The business has sold domestic equipment for more than 14 years, and opened a new homeowner equipment showroom with dedicated staff at Dulverton in 2010. It also holds a Gold Super Service dealer award, based on John Deere’s appraisal of the quality and efficiency of the dealership’s parts and service support for its customers.
As a result of this new appointment, Masons Kings now offers John Deere’s full range of professional turf and domestic lawn & garden equipment across the whole of Cornwall and Devon. This includes compact tractors, loaders and attachments, a complete range of walk-behind and ride-on cylinder and rotary mowers including greens mowers for fine turf, specialist machines such as aerators and sprayers, irrigation equipment, lawn tractors and scarifiers, and the award winning Gator utility vehicle range.
“We are delighted to be able to expand our business into this new area, which will enable us to offer an even more comprehensive service in the south-west of the country,” says Masons Kings owner Roger Prior.
“We intend to continue providing the same high level of sales, service and parts support to our new customers in Cornwall, be they golf and sports clubs, caravan and holiday parks, local authorities and public amenities, contractors, private landowners or homeowners. We have a wealth of experience in dealing with a wide range of customers, and our aim is always to offer the best advice, the best equipment and the best value for money.”
