Lynx Golf has joined the fight against Rett Syndrome, a severe neurological disease, after hearing of a little girl’s brave battle against the condition.

Dylan Souter, aged four, was diagnosed with RS when she was two. Her parents were told that, as she developed, she would lose every skill imaginable and die prematurely.

But as Rett Syndrome has been cured in mice, a cure in humans is in sight if enough money can be raised to develop the research. So the UK golf company is supporting a major charity quiz and dinner later this year to raise funds for the Reverse Rett charity.

Said dad Marc, a Producer for Sky Sports News: “When we found out Dylan had Rett Syndrome, we felt utter despair. At the age of two, her future had been snatched away from her.

“But there is hope. Incredibly, Rett Syndrome has been cured in mice. It is the sole mission of Reverse Rett to translate this breakthrough into a cure for the girls and women suffering today.

“Lynx Golf are helping us to raise both the funds and awareness that are urgently needed to make this happen. As sponsors of the annual Cure for Dylan Sky Sports Quiz since last year, Lynx have helped us raise nearly £200,000 over two nights. We are hugely grateful for their support and their passion for our cause.”

At the event, Lynx will be offering a his ‘n’ hers package of ladies’ limited edition tigress gold clubs and a man’s full set of Predator clubs, as well as some hospitality tickets for prime sporting events.

Said Stephanie Zinser, Lynx Golf managing partner: “This is a heartbreaking story but, incredibly, there is hope. They are actually in sight of a cure for this potentially reversible condition – without it, Marc’s young daughter could die.

“Any parent can’t fail to be moved by Dylan’s plight, so we are fully committed to helping Reverse Rett in every way we can.”

The Cure for Dylan charity quiz and dinner, in association with Sky Sports, takes place on Thursday, 18th September at StamfordBridge, the historic home of Chelsea Football Club. A galaxy of sports stars and TV personalities will be in attendance in support of the most worthy of charitable causes.

Lynx Golf continues to establish itself as one of the most forward-thinking and exciting equipment brands in Europe and is dedicated to supporting ‘green grass’ Pro shop business with more than 400 accounts in the UK.
