Lee hopes that his name will encourage junior golfers aged 7-16 to attend the three-day coaching camps, which have been successfully trialled at his full-time schools in Cheshire and Essex. Leeds Golf Centre’s events take place from 2nd to 4th April, 29th to 31st July and 26th to 28th August. In addition, the Lee Westwood Golf Tour comes to Leeds Golf Centre on 25th August for all golfers under the age of 21.

Following a structure set in place by Lee and his team, local PGA professionals will deliver a programme that includes a number of Skills Challenges designed to create a national leaderboard. At the end of the season, top-performing juniors will win a place at the Lee Westwood Golf Camps National Final where they will compete alongside qualifiers from the Lee Westwood Golf Tour; the overall winner will then get an opportunity to visit the LeeWestwoodGolfSchool in Florida and the chance to meet the man himself!

Leeds Golf Centre’s Operations Manager, Nigel Sweet, said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome the Lee Westwood Golf Camp and Tour to Leeds Golf Centre. We have always been dedicated to junior golf and never more so than under our new owners who remain wholly committed to the game’s grass roots. This philosophy is evidenced by the increasing numbers we see here at weekends and in school holidays, so to host such prestigious events endorsed by one of the world’s best golfers will be another terrific milestone for the facility.

“We are also working hard, schedule permitting, to bring Lee to Leeds Golf Centre at some point in the near future in the hope this will help attract further interest in Yorkshire’s junior golfers.”

Lee Westwood added: “I will be tracking the progress of the Camps Skills Test scores on the website and will also be having a go at the Skills Test to post a score myself!”

The Lee Westwood Golf Camps will cost £123 to attend, with Leeds Golf Centre’s PGA professionals having been ‘certified’ by the Lee Westwood Golf Camps management team.
