Increased profits at Sherdley Park Golf Course

Council golf course bucks the trend as income increases and golfers continue to flock to Sherdley Park. Income for the 5 weeks since 1st April 2009 is 50% up on last year.‘

St Helens Council reports that Sherdley Park Golf Course has seen a successful start to the year with increased profits. While other clubs struggle to retain members the council-run course continues to attract golfers and in even greater numbers than before.

For the first five weeks from 1st April income was up by more than 50% compared to the same period last year and the number of golfers playing on the course increased by 1,756 during the same period.

Sherdley Park Golf Course offers golf society packages with food included from as little as £13.50 per player and provides good value season tickets that give 12 months unlimited golf costing £75 for Juniors (up to 15), £225 for golfers aged 60 plus and aged from 16 to 19 and £425 for adults.

Opened in 1974, Sherdley Park Golf Course is one of the top ’pay and play’ courses in the North West. The undulating parkland golf course measures 5912 yards, par 71 and is open daily from first light until dusk. Bbookings are accepted from 6.30am midweek and 6.00am at weekends during the summer months.
