GolfBuddy celebrated its internationally-recognised status as the world’s most innovative GPS distance measuring device brand by picking up an award at the Golf Europe show in Germany 17-18 September 2012
GolfBuddy Voice – the first ever talking golf GPS to be sold in Europe – was given a certificate for product innovation in the 2012 GOLF EUROPE Product Awards, which honour the best innovations in new equipment for the 2012 golf season.
The awards are among the most sought-after in the golf industry and are allocated by a jury of experienced experts in the field of fashion, media, retail and design as well as other leading industry professionals.
GolfBuddy Europe General Manager, JohnEnnis, said: “We are delighted to accept this award for the GolfBuddy Voice as it recognises the incredible design and technology that has gone into creating what is widely regarded as the most innovative GPS rangefinder in golf.
“We believe the GolfBuddy Voice has completely redefined the boundaries of golf GPS technology and this, alongside our policy of charging no annual subscriptions or download charges, has been crucial to the immediate and enormous success of the product so far.”
The award was collected on behalf of GolfBuddy by Peter Stollenwerk, of Green Grass Golf, GolfBuddy’s own European distributor of the year.
GolfBuddy is the ‘official handheld GPS’ of the PGAs of Europe. Unlike other GPS companies, GolfBuddy operates a completely no fee policy with never any annual subscription charges or download fees.
Around the globe, teams of professional mappers walk courses on foot to ensure distances shown on all the company’s devices are supremely accurate – a fact recognised recently in comparison tests by magazines including Today’s Golfer and Golf Monthly. Over 35,000 worldwide courses can be stored on each unit – all completely free of charge.
