Golfbreaks.com, the specialist golf travel company, and GolfNow, the leading online tee time booking and golf course technology and services platform, have announced a strategic partnership that will encourage golfers to play more golf in both the UK and USA by utilising industry-leading technologies.
The collaborative marketing platforms being developed across both companies will focus on highlighting the convenience of purchasing tee times online, as well as promoting golf breaks and golf holidays at destinations across key UK and USA markets.
The partnership will also enable Golfbreaks.com to reach a larger audience of US golfers through GolfNow and Golf Channel. Having opened an office in Charleston, South Carolina in 2013, Golfbreaks.com will further expand its fast-growing US operation, helping more American golfers plan and book trips to play the historic links courses of the British Isles.
This new strategic alliance builds on the long-standing tee-sheet integration agreement between BRS Golf – a division of GolfNow – and Golfbreaks.com’s market-leading UK tee time booking service, TeeoffTimes.co.uk.
Under the new partnership, GolfNow will operate TeeoffTimes.co.uk as an extension of its current tee time distribution platform.
“The appetite of GolfNow, Golf Channel, Golfbreaks.com and TeeoffTimes.co.uk to grow the game of golf sits at the heart of this ground-breaking partnership,” said Steve Hemsworth, Managing Director of Golfbreaks.com. “At a time when the golf industry is looking for ways to attract more people to the sport, both companies believe that modern technology and more relevant and inspirational marketing will help to do just that. The collaborative partnership between our companies will make it easier for amateur golfers to book golf at a wider range of venues, which is great news, both for golfers and our partner courses looking to increase their revenue.”
“As one of the largest golf markets in the world, the UK possesses a rich golf tradition as the birthplace for the game and a thriving community of avid amateur golfers,” said Will McIntosh, Senior Vice President of Business and Strategy, GolfNow. “The foundation of this agreement was based on a mutual interest among both GolfNow and Golfbreaks.com to encourage more golfers to utilise technology to connect with the game in their own neighbourhood and when planning their travel to the most desirable golf destinations.”
