From Formula 1 to a hole in one

12.42pm 16th September 2015 - Corporate

Lets GolfLets Race, the UK’s only full-motion Formula 1 Simulation Centre, is expanding the business to incorporate some of the world’s highest-spec golf simulators.

The re-developed simulation facility (set to officially open in October 2015) is based in Horley on the borders of Surrey and Sussex, and will aptly be renamed as Lets Race & Lets Golf, becoming one of the UK’s the top simulation venues.

With thousands of golfers leaving the game each year after feeling they do not have the time to play, Lets Golf will offer customers the opportunity to play virtually on some of the best courses in the world from St. Andrews to the PGA National in one of their three new HD Golf simulation booths. Not only will this offering be at a fraction of the cost, but it will also enable golf enthusiasts to play rounds in less than two hours, in the dry, at a convenient location five minutes from Gatwick Airport.

Powered by HD Golf, the simulators being installed at Lets Race offer the most realistic simulated experience on the market. Utilising high speed spectrum sensor smart technology, they will offer players a unique way to enhance their technique – the golf ball and club are accurately tracked which shows where the ball ended up on the course and also displays crucial club/ball data – enabling players to self-diagnose and immediately improve their game.

Lets Golf is also welcoming PGA Golf Professional, Steve Furlonger, to their team. Steve will be on hand each week, offering one-to-one or group coaching sessions utilising technology such as the Foresight GC2 HMT ball & club tracking system, a Sam Balance ground force plate and high speed video capture (through multiple cameras). Steve will also offer golfers the chance to review their golf lesson online via his unique teaching app.

Lets Golf will also feature a Callaway retail zone providing custom-fitted clubs for customers. Steve commented: “I’m very proud to have been invited to join the team at Lets Golf, their products are amongst the most innovative experiences in the country. Golf and F1 racing under one roof sounds like a match made in heaven! I’m looking forward to helping golfers learn the game in one of the best studios in the South.”

Ben Stephenson, Commercial Manager for Lets Race & Lets Golf, added: “Since opening three years ago we have seen the business flourish as more and more people understand the benefits of simulation within sport, and moving into the golf industry seemed like the perfect next step. Lets Golf is all about the experience for the recreational golfer. It has been designed to offer enthusiasts a financially feasible opportunity to play on some of the world’s best courses but with the added luxury and comfort of indoor private booths. Furthermore, with the addition of our new restaurant, Blacks Burgers, we are also able to offer customers table service direct to their booth whilst enabling us to cater for every market from everyday visitors to corporate events, stag and hen dos and even professional team/club hire.”

Sessions for Lets Golf will start from £15 and groups of up to six people can hire each booth at any one time. Race experiences for Lets Race also start at £15.
