Foremost Elite Marketing Programme (EMP) professionals all over the country have enjoyed a fast start to the season thanks to the success the recent Golf Pride MOT Your Game promotion.
The promotion was originally scheduled to run during the month of February but it proved so successful that many Foremost EMP members decided to extend it for a further month while others have opted to run a range of similar re-grip promotions at various times during the coming year.
The Golf Pride sponsored MOT Your Game promotion seemed to strike a chord as golfers all over the country queued up to get three free grips on their woods when they purchased nine new grips for their irons.
The success of the promotion was such that despite difficult trading conditions participating Foremost EMP members saw their re-grip turnover increase by an average of more than 7% compared to February 2013 when a similar MOT promotion was run.
63% more Foremost members participated in the promotion than in 2013 but what made the promotion even more impressive was that the benchmark of those that didn’t participate showed a decline of 19% for re-grip turnover compared to the same period last year.
Rob Leonard, the Head Professional at Harpenden Common Golf Club in Hertfordshire, was one of several Foremost EMP professionals impressed enough by results to extend the promotion into March.
“It has been a huge success,” he confirmed. “We’ve had a steady stream of customers come into the shop to get their clubs re-gripped. It’s clear they recognise a bargain when they see one.”
“I think the fact we now have our Grip Bar on display in the shop has helped a lot too,” he added. “It gives customers the chance to pick up the new grips and realise how much better they feel than their worn ones.
“That, together with the deal they are getting, makes it a bit of a no-brainer, really.”
Also commenting on the promotion’s success, Conor Dillon, Director of Sales and Marketing EMEA for Golf Pride, said: “We were delighted with the response from Foremost members to the Golf Pride MOT Your Game promotion. It was the perfect platform for raising the awareness of the importance of re-gripping, which not only delivered a strong uplift in sales, but golfers ready to start the season with confidence in their hands.”
“I think the results of the Golf Pride MOT Your Game promotion are remarkable given what the weather was like all over the country in February,” agreed Foremost Director, Andy Martin.
“It provided a useful source of income during difficult trading conditions and it also worked on a different level because the advice customers received as part of the promotion helped to reinforce the message that Foremost members have the expertise to help their games.”
