The European Golf Course Owners Association (EGCOA) has announced the launch of the Estonian Golf Course Owners Association. The Association has started strong with the addition of 5 out of 6 of Estonia’s 18 hole golf courses as founding members.
The mission of the Estonian owners is to promote, develop and represent the interests of golf course owners and operators throughout the country, as well as to promote the growth of the golf industry on a national and international level.
Hanno Kross founding member & CEO of Estonian Golf & Country Club said: “As the game of golf in Estonia is rapidly growing in interest we need to move with this interest and look towards the future development of the golf industry.”
He added: “Whilst Estonia is a relatively small golfing destination by European standards we plan to work together with the founding members of the association and the EGCOA to further share& develop the excellent facilities we already have.”
The Estonian Golf Course Owners Association is the latest addition to a growing list of national associations (including Denmark, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Spain and the UK), all of whom are united under the umbrella of the EGCOA who now represent almost 1,000 golf facilities across Europe.
The Estonian Golf Course Owners Association will be an integral part of the EGCOA, and will play an active role alongside other European golf course owners in pan-European initiatives and programs.
Lodewijk Klootwijk EGCOA Director said: “We are delighted to welcome the Estonian Golf Course Owners to the EGCOA and are very much looking forward to working together in the coming years. It is exciting times for Estonian Golf and uniting the voice of the owners will play a key role in further establishing Estonia as top golfing destination.”
