De Vere to reposition its Deluxe brand

12.16am 16th October 2007 - Corporate

De Vere Deluxe has appointed Lee Derrick as Head of International Golf Development. In his new role, Lee will be responsible for bringing Deluxe to a new audience of UK and international golf-lovers.

Lee will head up a dedicated sales team that will drive the repositioning of golf in the Deluxe brand and establish it as a leading offering across seven hotels including Cameron House Hotel Resort, Oulton Hall, Mottram Hall, Slaley Hall, Carden Park and Dunston Hall in the UK as well as Spanish Deluxe hotel, Roda, planned for completion in 2009.

Lee’s appointment is part of the commitment De Vere Deluxe has made to create a top-of-the-range golfing experience with the first being the opening of the new golf training academy at Oulton Hall Leeds and the launch of The Carrick at Cameron House Resort. This investment has already begun to establish Deluxe as a sought after golfing destination, with the Carrick hosting the Ladies Scottish Open in September and the PGA Tour confirmed for 2009.

As a specialist in the lifestyle and golf market, Lee has worked in sales across a wide range of businesses in both UK and International markets. He began his career at Virgin Atlantic Airways before working for the British Tourist Authority and The Old Course Hotel, St Andrews. Recently he held the position of Managing Director for Blue Spinach Ltd where he oversaw strategic marketing planning and sales activities as well as launching Team Monaco Ltd, a tour operating business for the Monaco Grand Prix.

Lee comments, “Golf is core to De Vere Deluxe and I’m really looking forward to working with our sales team to build Deluxe as a world-class golfing destination amongst International and UK golfing enthusiasts.”

Daniel Hodson, golf and leisure director added, “Lee Derrick is a great asset to the team and his appointment demonstrates our commitment to raising Deluxe’s golfing profile.”

There are currently nine De Vere Deluxe hotels, eight in the UK including Cameron House Hotel Resort, Loch Lomond, Grade II listed mansion Oulton Hall, near Leeds and The Grand, Brighton, as well as Spanish Deluxe hotel Roda, planned for completion in 2009.

De Vere Deluxe is undergoing a brand repositioning and major investment programme. Refurbishment is planned across all the hotels with a view to offering every guest the De Vere Deluxe experience – exceptional luxury and memorable service in stylish surroundings.
