Clubhaus sign three-year deal with Textron

1.00pm 18th January 2000 - Corporate

Clubhaus have signed an exclusive three-year deal with Textron, the Ipswich-based turf care experts.

The company, owners of 15 courses in Britain and six in Europe, have decided to use Textron as their No 1 provider of turf maintenance equipment which includes the Cushman, Iseki, Jacobsen, Ransomes, Ryan and Turfco brand names.

Also included in this deal is a series of operational and technical green-keeper training programmes.

Guy Buckley, chief operating officer for Clubhaus, said: “As a result of this agreement, Clubhaus’s 21 courses throughout Europe will have the most modern fleet of maintenance equipment of any operator in Europe. We must also ensure that our greenkeeping teams know how to use the equipment to maximum effect.

“To this end we have requested that, over and above our current technical agreements, we have a training plan incorporated into the agreement. Textron have readily agreed to this proposal and will be providing operational training to all greenkeeping staff.

“This programme will be mandatory for all Clubhaus greenkeeping employees throughout Europe. We believe that this and other current group initiatives will result in playing surfaces throughout the group reaching new quality standards for a multiple operator.”

Richard Bishop, national accounts manager for Textron said: “We are very to accommodate Clubhaus’s request for the extensive training programme. Our dedicated team at Ipswich headed by training manager Nigel Church will be able to deliver the specific training to meet Clubhaus’s full requirements.”
