Cleveland Golf’s UK division has appointed Hampshire-based Azalea Group as its PR agency. Cleveland Golf is an established brand originally heralded for producing some of the finest wedges available.
The fast-growing company now manufactures a full range of clubs and is rapidly building a reputation for first-rate woods, irons and hybrid clubs as well as maintaining the values of quality upon which it was founded.
Ben Davis, Cleveland Golf’s marketing manager, explained, “In recent years Cleveland Golf, as a brand, has grown exponentially and as we look to continue that it’s important to ensure we don’t lose sight of our core values of quality and are sending out the right messages.
“We’ve been aware of Azalea work in the golf industry for some time now and their proven track record made them an obvious choice. When we approached them for their initial ideas we were impressed by their energy, their innovative approach and the broad skill set within the company.
“Just in the first couple of weeks we have already established an encouraging relationship – and I feel the future is bright for both parties.”
The Azalea Group’s managing director, Pete Richardson, added, “We are delighted to be working with Cleveland Golf. It is expanding upon its superb reputation for quality equipment and we’re really looking forward to being a part of this and helping the company move to even higher levels.
“Like Azalea, Cleveland Golf is one of the fastest growing brands within the industry. There is a definite synergy between the two companies. Working with Cleveland is a testament to how far our company has come in a relatively short space of time. This is a very exciting and progressive period for The Azalea Group and we will continue to build both our reputation and our client portfolio.”
The Azalea Group has a burgeoning reputation within the golf industry where it already handles PR and marketing for a number of clients including The Golf Show Co – owner of both the London Golf Show and The Golf Show, NEC Birmingham; the Leaderboard Group of golf courses – which includes The Oxfordshire, Chart Hills, Dale Hill and Sandford Springs; TeeGenius; and the PGA Prestige Collection.
Other recent client acquisitions include a large, planned golf resort development in eastern Europe; Caddy Motion – the in-car, trolley-battery charger which featured on BBC TV’s ‘Dragon’s Den’; Bushey Hall and West Chiltington golf clubs; StayGripped – a new training aid; the Freestyle Golf Roadshow and seminal golf apparel company Urban Golf Gear.
