CHAMP has new versions of top-selling spike

8.38am 12th February 2008 - Corporate

CHAMP Spikes, the number one brand on Tour, has announced its revamped product line for the 2008 season.

Enhancing the overall composition and solidifying the traction legs through structural improvements have improved CHAMP’S top-selling men’s Scorpion Stinger™ spike. Using exclusive materials and technological advancements for a more supportive spike, the yellow traction legs are thicker, yet softer, for better cushioning and longer lasting performance. The black traction legs have been slightly elongated to help improve both traction and durability while reducing clogging.

The new Ladies Scorpion Stinger™ proves the best can get better. As the only true women’s spike on the market, CHAMP has redesigned this LPGA Tour favourite. CHAMP has retained the same tour-tested structure, but adapted the spikes to better fit a ladies shoe by making each spike 15% smaller. This eliminates over crowding of the spikes on the smaller ladies shoes. The new Ladies’ Scorpion Stinger™ has also undergone a compositional change, reducing the hardness with the same technologies as its male version, making it more comfortable to wear.

Additionally the distinctive pink and white colour scheme of CHAMP Spikes, worn by PGA and LPGA professionals during Pink on the Links™ in 2007, was so successful that CHAMP is transitioning these colours to the new Ladies Scorpion Stinger™ for 2008.

“We’re committed to advancing our traction technology to meet the needs of today’s golfers,” said Harris MacNeill, president of CHAMP. “The easiest and quickest way to improve your golf game is to change your spikes and improve your traction. The improvements we’ve made to the Scorpion Stinger™ and Ladies’ Scorpion Stinger™ are designed to significantly strengthen a golfer’s foundation, while allowing them to look and feel great at the same time. Golf’s a lot more fun when your equipment helps you play well.”
