Eddie Bullock Golf Consulting has been voted the Best Golf Hospitality Consultancy at the 2021 LuxLife Hospitality awards.
LuxLife is a quarterly business lifestyle magazine, and its awards, which are now in their sixth year, recognise and award businesses that have been consistent with adapting to keep up their customers satisfied and safe.
The awards focus on businesses which provide a diverse range of services from event and hospitality management, restaurants and bars, travel agents, public relations, as well as marketing services to tour operators.
Eddie Bullock Golf Consulting was set up in 2008 by Eddie Bullock, an Advanced Fellow of the PGA whose previous roles in the golf industry have enabled him to gain valuable insights into what it takes to run a successful golf business.
EBGC advises golf clubs on all aspects of club operations from F&B and digital marketing, to course management and hospitality, staffing and resource management. Recent golf club clients have included Royal Norwich, Goodwood, High Post, Glasgow, Windlesham, Woodcote Park and the RAC, while EBGC has also worked with a wide range of golf industry bodies, including the PGA, BIGGA, England Golf, Wales Golf and the Club Managers Association of Europe, among others.
EBGC has thrived by altering the way in which the industry itself approaches the challenge of enticing new members to join their clubs. Instead of a closed-shop, Bullock has encouraged many businesses to embrace a hospitality culture at the core of what they do. He says clients should adopt the motto “We are hosts, first and always” to secure new levels of success.
Bullock added: “When I first start working with another organisation, it’s as a partner who will ensure they are ready and fit for what the future will hold. The key to success is businesses that organise themselves around the way in which people operate and thrive. A good work culture is incredibly important, not just when it comes to attracting amazing people, but when it comes to ensuring that they stay the course and achieve remarkable things on their company’s behalf.”
He added: “The importance of culture has never been more obvious than throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Companies around the world have had to adjust and change the way in which they work to survive in these unprecedented times. Because innovation forms the beating heart of what EBGC offers its clients, the team were able to learn quickly and make changes that still supported their clients. Many lessons they have learned have been passed on directly to their clients.”
