Banyan Tree Group, one of the world’s largest independent hospitality brands, has joined the PGA’s Principal Partner Programme.

Banyan Tree Group currently manages 58 resorts and hotels, 63 spas, 73 retail galleries and three championship golf courses in 17 countries, from Thailand and Indonesia to Mexico and Seychelles.

The partnership with the Singapore-based company builds on the existing relationship between The PGA and Banyan Tree Group, whose Laguna Phuket resort in Thailand already boasts a PGA-branded academy and has hosted the PGA’s International Members’ Conference on three occasions.

A number of opportunities have arisen for PGA Members as part of the new three-year agreement, including hotel, leisure, travel and residential property incentives, as well as a one-off Banyan Tree Group pro-am event.  Open to PGA Professionals worldwide, the event will provide playing opportunities along with pre and post-event stays, allowing participants to tailor their own unique holiday experience.

PGA Members will also be able to access exclusive offers at selected Banyan Tree Group destinations around the world to enable them to host clients. This includes a 30 per cent discount when staying at the group’s flagship resort Banyan Tree Phuket. In addition, there are savings to be made on group packages.

Ravi Chandran, Banyan Tree Group’s executive vice-president and chief executive of Laguna Resorts & Hotels, said: “We are delighted to enhance our existing relationship with The PGA. Becoming a PGA Principal Partner and hosting the Banyan Tree Group Pro-Am Series enables us to mark another keynote golf event whilst extending exclusive partnership benefits and introducing exceptional travel experiences to PGA Members across our Banyan Tree Group.”

PGA chief executive Robert Maxfield said: “We are delighted to welcome the Banyan Tree Group onboard as a PGA Principal Partner. The partnership and associated Pro-Am Series are a fantastic opportunity for PGA Members to play abroad, sample Thai culture and enjoy Banyan Tree’s outstanding customer experience.”
