Ashworth Europe is first country-wide PGA Partner

Ashworth Europe has signed an agreement with the PGA of Portugal to become the national body’s Official Apparel partner. Ashworth has long been associated with prestigious venues and events all over the world but this is the first time that the company has entered into an agreement with a national PGA within Europe.
Ashworth, Inc. is a designer of men’s and women’s golf-inspired lifestyle sportswear distributed domestically and internationally in golf pro shops, resorts, upscale department and specialty stores and to corporate customers.
As Official Apparel partner, Ashworth will be one of the most prominent companies at this year’s tournaments via on-course advertising, inclusion in all related TV coverage as well as having continual brand presence in all PGA of Portugal media. This entitlement includes; logo and branding on all PGA of Portugal correspondence; advertorials and advertising in the leading Portuguese golf publication A BOLA and brand exposure on
David Silva, president of the PGA of Portugal was instrumental in securing Ashworth’s involvement and is confident that the brand will benefit from this unique partnership. “By supporting our professional game,” he said “Ashworth has positioned itself at the heart of golf in Portugal and I am confident that Ashworth will very soon become recognised as ‘the’ apparel brand in Portugal.”
Grahame Jenkins, managing director at Ashworth Europe is delighted to support the PGA of Portugal with the first agreement of this kind. “By supporting the PGA professionals,” he said “we continue to reinforce the brand’s strengths and authenticity, which greatly influences our core consumer and influences the tourist market. Ashworth is very proud of our new association with the PGA of Portugal and through David we look to support all of their activities during the coming year.”
As well as being a featured brand on, Ashworth Europe will also develop and offer a specific range of branded PGA of Portugal clothing, which will be available to all PGA members.
As part of this agreement, Ashworth has retained the right to extend the initial one year contract for a further period of three years to 2009.
