American Golf, Europe’s largest multi-channel retailer of golfing equipment and accessories, has launched its new store at Salisbury as part of its ongoing expansion programme across the UK and Ireland.
The 4,109 sq ft outlet, which has created 10 jobs, is the second of six openings planned in 2014 and is the retailer’s 103rd store.
Situated on Southampton Road, the store will provide the region’s golfers with the UK’s widest range of the latest equipment and accessories, including some of the industry’s biggest brands such as TaylorMade, Callaway, Ping, Nike, Galvin Green and Motocaddy.
Customers to the Salisbury store will benefit from American Golf’s price guarantee scheme, Guaranteed Trade-in programme, free custom fit services and advice from a PGA Pro, which is accessible in every location. American Golf is also running a range of store opening offers until 3 April 2014.
American Golf has appointed PGA Professional Lee Davies as Store Manager for the Sutton Coldfield outlet. Lee said: “Salisbury is privileged to host to some of the UK’s most spectacular golf courses. We look forward to welcoming the local golfing community to our store and help to improve their game through our Global Play Golf Simulator and in-store putting green, as well as American Golf’s free custom fitting services.”
Kevin Styles, American Golf’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “Our new site in Salisbury is another great example of the new concept stores that we are rolling out across the country. Store Manager Lee Davies is an experienced and talented golf professional and, alongside his dedicated team, will provide specialist gameplay and equipment advice that will have a tangible impact on our customers’ scores.”
Salisbury-based property consultants Myddelton & Major acted as joint agents with Chase & Partners in the letting of the premises.
Dean Speer, a partner at Salisbury-based Myddelton & Major, said: “American Golf has secured a perfect trading position on the main road in a thriving part of town which is already home to many vibrant retail and trade businesses.
“It is a very good letting for the area, keeping with the diverse tenant mix. We are finding that units of this kind are becoming increasingly sought after as the economic recovery gains pace.”
