American Golf stores across the UK are to install Foresight Sports GC2 technology to ensure they provide the best custom-fitting service within the high-street golf retail sector.
The GC2 is the only technology to directly measure critical ball flight data at launch and is now accepted as the golf industry’s most accurate tool for club fitters, retailers, and teaching professionals alike. And American Golf is installing GC2 in its latest stores – in Oxford and the recently opened flagship store in Monument, London – with a roll-out across the UK to follow.
Foresight’s revolutionary use of ultra-high-speed cameras, to image the exact movement of the dimple patterns on the golf ball, ensures pure, accurate, reliable data, which in turn means theirs is the only technology suitable for all seasons and conditions – whether indoors or on the range – and is the only launch monitor able to provide trusted data for every club, every shot, every player and every swing.
It’s now accepted, even by advocates of previous-generation radar equipment, that if you intend to work indoors, even for a proportion of your coaching or fitting hours, the technology choice has to be Foresight. It is the only technology designed from the ground up to work perfectly indoors or out, as it requires only 18 inches of ball flight to have accurately measured all launch parameters.
But the industry is also now accepting that Foresight is also the best option for measuring ball and club data when outside on the range or short-game area, where it remains unaffected by wind or any down-range conditions which can affect the results provided by older radar systems.
The key benefit for American Golf’s professionals, fitters and advisors is that the data measured and presented by Foresight’s technology is the most accurate available, ensuring the best custom-fitting experience available and therefore the ultimate in-store service for the customer.
Foresight’s technology range is used and recommended by all but a few of the world’s leading club manufacturers including Titleist, Cleveland/Srixon, Cobra/Puma, PING and TaylorMade and is the fastest-selling launch monitor in the industry. Its portability and industry leading accuracy means the technology is also used by dozens of the world’s top touring pros and coaches and it was the natural choice for American Golf when it looked to increase and improve its club-fitting offering to its many thousands of customers.
American Golf’s retail director, Tony Walsh, said: “Custom fitting has become an important part of our business and is quite rightly demanded increasingly by golfers. We want to introduce a system that is proven to provide accurate data indoors and the Foresight Sports GC2, which is rapidly becoming the industry standard, enables us to achieve that. To maintain our position we need to offer the best technology and services to our customers and have been delighted with what we have seen from the GC2 so far.”
Foresight Sports Europe’s sales director, Ed Doling, added: “We are delighted that Europe’s largest golf retailer has chosen to install our technology into its stores.
“American Golf is following a well-trodden path in terms of major golf retailers adopting GC2 technology. In the USA, Dick’s Sporting Goods and its Golf Galaxy brand – one of the leading sporting goods retailers in North America with more than 500 outlets – are GC2 users; in Australia, Drummonds, the premier retail chain in the country, is using Foresight’s GC2 and HMT (Head Measurement Technology); and, in South Africa, The Pro Shop, the country’s largest golf retail chain, with more than 52 per cent of market share, installed GC2s in March 2012 … and it hasn’t looked back.
“Increasingly, the major retail chains are realising that to offer the best possible service to an increasingly discerning and knowledgeable customer base, they need to be in possession of the most accurate data possible. And that level of accuracy is only available from technology designed and produced by Foresight Sports.
“Some fitters and professionals believe that ‘data is data’. But like any expert in their field, they should recognise the benefit of using the latest technology to enhance their services.
“With the GC2 providing the most accurate data, our clients are able to provide the most accurate custom fitting. In turn this ensures the happiest customer, increased repeat business, and hugely positive word of mouth. At the end of the day the choice of launch-monitor technology is vitally important as it directly affects the bottom line.”
