The Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF) has become the latest organisation to partner with KPMG and its Golf Business Community website.

The Federation, which represents a variety of leading golf businesses active in the region, will use the online platform to communicate news and information from Asia to a global audience.

Tim Trinka, the newly appointed president of the AGIF, said, “We are experiencing significant growth in the golf business in Asia. The AGIF’s objective is to ‘grow the game, responsibly,’ and in line with this we are looking at the best solutions to drive participation, establish professional education and understand the market through research.

“To help achieve this, we want to share what’s going on in Asia and engage with the global golf industry, gaining the expertise and experience of mature markets, while showcasing how Asia’s approach is helping the game grow and evolve in new ways.

“The Golf Business Community website is the perfect channel for this, and we are pleased to be partnering with KPMG’s Golf Advisory Practice.”

The AGIF is a not-for-profit organization and was founded in 2009. Its members include golf course and club suppliers, professional support services, golf course architects, as well as golf real estate and development companies.

As well as being AGIF president, Tim Trinka is the Senior Foreign Lawyer at the law firm of Bae, Kim & Lee in Seoul, and has represented a wide variety of businesses in the golf industry in Asia over the past 20 years.

Andrea Sartori, head of KPMG’s Golf Advisory Practice, said: “The Golf Business Community website now has more than 180,000 visitors per year and, combined with the 38,000 industry stakeholders that receive our weekly news alerts, it has become the leading worldwide source of golf business market intelligence.

“We welcome this partnership with the Asian Golf Industry Federation and look forward to providing a platform on which those in the golf business can find out more about golf’s development in this dynamic, growing region.”
