Following the Scottish Government’s decision to close all schools and nurseries across Scotland, Scottish Golf recognise that this will be a challenging period for parents and children alike. The following arrangements have been made for a ‘virtual’ event
With grassroots golf activity that Scottish Golf administers also being postponed, we wanted to provide parents and children across Scotland with an opportunity to take part in our new virtual Scottish Golf GolfSixes event!
Aimed at supporting young people across the country in continuing their education during this uncertain period of isolation, this fun and creative event will take place from Monday 23 March – Saturday 28 March, providing daily challenges to engage and stimulate children through a series of fun, golf related tasks. All that is required to take part is one piece of paper each day, some pencils and lots of creativity!
What is the Scottish Golf Virtual GolfSixes Challenge?
This week, the brief is all about creating your own golf course! We will reveal one assignment at 10am each day and you can submit your work by tagging @ScottishGolf on Twitter and Facebook with a picture of your masterpiece.
Our panel of expert judges will then pick the best submissions from each day as winners.
Day 1 (Monday 23 March): Design your golf club logo
Today, you have been tasked with designing a logo for your new golf course. Get your child to design an eye-catching logo that reflects what their new golf course is all about – think about making it stand out from the crowd and ensure it highlights the key things about their new course.
Our expert team of judges have given the following hints and tips on what might make for a great course logo:
• Use any drawing tools you like – pens, pencils, crayons etc
• Make sure that your logo is clear and easy to read
• Ensure your logo is colourful
• Once you’ve created your logo, tag @ScottishGolf on Twitter or Facebook to be in with a chance of winning some great goodies!
Make sure you check back each day next week to see the next task in our Virtual GolfSixes Challenge.
