Promote Golf apply for £250,000 of Salary Grants for UK Golf Clubs

3.36pm 29th January 2021 - Coronavirus News

Promote Golf, a leading golf consultancy, marketing and training support company, have had a flying start to their partnership with the UK-based LSS Group by submitting nearly £250,000 worth of salary funding for golf clubs.

The new partnership utilises the Government’s £2 billion Kickstart initiative, which enables Golf Clubs to recruit from a large pool of people, providing placements in the workplace. In addition to the 100% funding for salaries up to 25-hours per week for 6-months, Promote Golf provide extensive online training for all new starters, tailored to the position they’re undertaking. Clubs are not obligated to keep the new staff on after the 6-months, which makes it an ideal option for summer recruitment.

Tim Gilpin, General Manager at Beau Desert Golf Club in Staffordshire, jumped on the initiative as soon as it launched last week, saying: “It quickly became clear, after an initial call with Richard Pilbury at the LSS Group, that this initiative can have great benefits for all golf clubs, particularly during the forthcoming summer. Here at Beau Desert, we’re looking to recruit summer greenkeepers, front-of-house staff in the clubhouse and a number of kitchen-based roles. The process of securing funding for these positions has been effortless for us, with Richard administering all aspects of the application.”

Tim continues, “We’re also excited at the training provision being offered by Promote Golf and forming part of the funding from the Government. I’ve undertaken a number of their online courses so I know the training will be perfectly pitched and highly relevant to the roles we’re employing.”

Promote Golf partners, UK-based LSS Group are a gold-standard Government Gateway and undertake all application administration on behalf of the club, with a track-record of success in securing the necessary funding. In addition, they provide successful candidates with structured support and training to improve their future employability – a pre-requisite of all Kickstart applications.

Golf clubs still have opportunity to apply for funding, with anticipated approvals coming within 4 to 6 weeks and before the summer season if done so using the LSS Group’s expertise.
