Construction of a new events space at The Belfry Hotel & Resort in the West Midlands, is progressing ahead of schedule and is expected to open later this month.

The project, part of an £80m development, will create over 200 jobs and includes the resort’s largest events space, the 852sqm Masters Suite.

It will enhance The Belfry’s existing 23 event spaces, which serve a variety of corporate and international markets.

The new suite will feature a pre-function area, mezzanine, executive boardroom, and an outdoor terrace with views of The Brabazon golf course.

The development also includes a new Leisure Club, with a family-friendly swimming pool, lap pool, hot tubs, and a café.

Four glass-fronted studios, a gym, and a multipurpose sports area will round out the leisure facilities.

Chris Semones, managing director of resort owner Goldman Sachs, said: “The Belfry has a deserved reputation for excellence, and we have seen first-hand its capacity for innovation and growth, and its drive to become a leading leisure and events destination in the UK.

“As owners, our investment only reinforces that. We look forward to taking this renowned resort from strength to strength over the coming years, solidifying its place at the heart of the events community, and continuing to invest in its people, its potential and its future.”

Chris Eigelaar, resort director at The Belfry, said: “Ensuring our valued guests have an experience like no other is what drives us. It’s extremely inspiring to see the Resort grow and I have no doubt that this exhilarating development will further enhance The Belfry brand and its reputation as one of the UK’s most outstanding leisure and events destinations.”
