Turf equipment specialists, Campey Turf Care Systems, have proved that it’s not just pop stars who can successfully undertake European tours. The company recently completed a three-week programme of non-stop demonstrations of machinery throughout France, Spain and Portugal, to professional groundsmen and greenkeepers – many of whom have now become firm Campey fans.
Tour venues at which Campey’s David Briggs and Daniel Robinson gave show-stopping performances included Chambourcy near Paris, Bordeaux, Biarritz, Lyon and Marseilles, before crossing the border into Spain to give demonstrations in Barcelona and the Costa del Sol, and then on to Portugal’s Algarve and Lisbon.
Machines displayed included a Dakota 420 Top Dresser with a bunker-filling arm, for the fast transportation and application of materials, and a Dakota 410 Top Dresser fitted to a Toro Workman utility vehicle. Campey also included equipment from its Nunes line-up of high work-rate rotary mowers, such as the seven-gang trailed 360 model, a Nunes 255 fitted to a John Deere JD3235A, plus a prototype Nunes rotary mulching mower specifically for compact tractors.
In keeping with the closer harmonisation of Europe, Campey Turf Care Systems aims to introduce the machinery it distributes to a wide range of countries, so that more professionals and end-users can benefit from improved work rates and higher efficiency.
“We were absolutely delighted by the high attendance at every venue,” says Sales Manager, David Briggs, “and we received very positive feedback from our new ‘fans’. The groundsmen, greenkeepers and contractors we met really appreciated the fact that we’d travelled so far to see them.”
Similar tours are planned for elsewhere in Europe, including Scandinavia.
