Cleat brush from Softspikes

12.30am 8th April 2002 - Corporate

The new brush has been designed with three sets of heavy-duty nylon bristles that simultaneously clean the top of the cleat and under the cleat legs. It also features a strong nylon handle and angled bristles that enable the golfer to remove even the most stubborn debris wrapped around the legs of the cleats.

“Because of the dynamic nature of Black Widow cleats, with their moving legs, it is sometimes difficult to remove all the dirt and debris. We have listened to golfer feedback and have come up with this solution to the cleat cleaning problem,” said Bill McGuinness, European marketing director of Softspikes.

The company has received excellent feedback from field trials in Europe. Jerry Hayes, head professional at Sutton Coldfield Golf Club said, “It’s a well thought out design, easy to use and really does a complete job of cleaning in and around the Black Widow cleats. Every member who has tried the brush wants to get one. The Black Widow is a great cleat and I think the new brush pretty much eliminates the only problem we’ve had with them – keeping them clean in wet and muddy conditions.”

The Black Widow Brush comes with a handy belt clip that attaches easily to a golf bag or trolley and retails at £6.99.
