ClubstoBuy.com, sister company of the world’s largest club rental service ClubstoHire.com, sold its first sets of used clubs within hours of opening online.
Callaway’s Danny Willett, Europe’s first Masters winner in 17 years, proved the inspiration for Jean Bennett from County Westmeath, Ireland, to purchase two sets of Callaway clubs for herself and her left-handed husband, John Bennett. The couple regularly use the ClubstoHire service when travelling to play golf in Puerto Banus, Spain, which is how they heard about the new ClubstoBuy service.
“We heard that ClubstoBuy was offering ClubstoHire clubs once they’ve been used a certain number of times,” said Mrs Bennett. “It’s so much cheaper than buying a full new set elsewhere, which could cost my husband and me up to €1000 each.
“The service was excellent, just like it always is from ClubstoHire, and the price was very competitive,” she added. “I can’t imagine you would find the same level of service for less money and the clubs are always ready on time and in great condition.”
The new website was busy from the moment it went live with several more customers quick to buy used irons and drivers, including James Hacker from Bristol, who bought a set of Callaway irons.
“I’ve used ClubstoHire in both Majorca and Malaga, and I’ve always been very pleased with the service,” said Mr Hacker. “I trust the brand, and the set I bought on ClubstoBuy.com were clearly displayed with the condition honestly described. It was a very easy process.”
Craig Monks from Bolton was also in the first group of people to buy through the new site when he purchased a TaylorMade AeroBurner driver.
“I’ve rented this driver from ClubstoHire when playing in Portugal in the past, and when my old driver cracked, I looked at ClubstoBuy because I wanted a quality product without
the price,” said Mr Monks. “The 14-day trial and 12-month warranty ideas are unique when buying used clubs, and the whole experience was very positive.”
ClubstoBuy launched in April 2016 to sell used rental clubs from leading golf brands such as TaylorMade, Callaway, Mizuno and Wilson Staff at competitive prices to rival any club resale specialist.
“These stories are exactly why we started ClubstoBuy, and we are very happy that we are attracting customers so soon after opening,” said CEO Tony Judge. “The creation of the site was a direct consequence of high demand from ClubstoHire customers, and hopefully by selling more clubs at affordable prices, we can attract more people to enjoy golf both at home and abroad.”
