Troon® begins working with another renowned Spanish client this week. Aloha Golf Club, the three-time host of the European Tour’s Open de Andalucía, will become the first Troon Privé club on mainland Europe.

Joining the Centurion Club in London as the continent’s only other Privé venue, this private club near Marbella on the Costa del Sol has engaged the elite Troon Privé brand to enhance its historic golf course experience for members and their guests.

Aloha Golf Club is well-known to television golf viewers, thanks to its role as host of the Open de Andalucía. It was at Aloha in 2012 that Julien Quesne became the European Tour’s 400th winner, following former World Number One Lee Westwood’s victory in 2007 and 2002 Open Championship runner-up Thomas Levet’s title in 2008.

Multiple European Tour winner Gonzalo Fernandez-Castaño was moved by the quality of the facilities when he visited, and called the vast changing room at Aloha, with its sauna and relaxation room, “one of the best on the European Tour.”

As with its existing Spanish partners Las Colinas Golf & Country Club and Lumine Mediterránea Beach & Golf Community, Troon will be working to a tailored brief with Aloha Golf Club. The latter’s forward-thinking board wanted to safeguard the club’s vision and ensure accountability as it actions its strategic plans for course upgrades and improvements. The Troon Privé partnership is a long-term strategy to deliver the action items, ultimately enhancing the member and guest experience desired by the club’s board and membership.

Jon Schauder, Area Director – Europe, Business Development Director, Troon International Division commented on the signing of Troon’s latest facility in Spain, saying: “We’re extremely pleased to welcome Aloha Golf Club to the Troon family, especially introducing our Privé private club brand to Spain and being able to contribute to the upcoming improvements at such a renowned club in the Costa del Sol.

“Being part of this select group of facilities will open up a wonderful array of opportunities for each member at Aloha, both around the world and across the USA. We look forward to working with the board and committees to enrich the already strong golf course experience and add benefits to one of the most popular club membership offerings.”

Schauder was joined in his comments by Aloha Golf Club President, Rafael Fontan, commenting: “The Troon professionals represent the expertise and knowledge to deliver the club’s strategic plan of improving Aloha’s golf facilities for our members and their guests. Being part of Troon Privé will set us apart in the region and in Spain while providing the core benefits of accountability, buying agreements and technical oversight to our course and operational improvements. We’re excited for the next stages of our relationship with Troon and ultimately how our members will benefit for years to come.”
