The Faldo Series heads to Pyle & Kenfig Golf Club this week for the first UK Championship of the season. A field of over 60 players lines up in Bridgend on 11-13 April for the 54-hole Wales Championship.
“The start of the UK season is always an exciting time. You get to see the new crop and you get to see how much the Series ‘veterans’ have developed their game.” said Sir Nick Faldo. “Pyle & Kenfig have been very hospitable hosts of the Series for many years and the course always provides a great test for the players. We believe that playing good, true & tough courses is vital to push young golfers’ games to the next level, we are really looking forward to the event.”
“We are delighted to welcome the Faldo Series back to Pyle & Kenfig for a seventh time and we hope that the players will enjoy our challenging course,” said Simon Hopkin, Secretary /Manager of Pyle & Kenfig Golf Club. “It is an honour to be the Faldo Series Wales venue and it is very pleasing to welcome some of Europe’s best young golfers to the club. We have the Amateur Championship here in June and it is fantastic the stars of the future will be testing their skills over our Championship links.”
Previous Grand Finalist Jack Singh-Brar will line up in a talented field. Jack will aim to lead the charge to book a place in the Grand Final. The winner of each division – three boys and two girls – will join Faldo at the season-ending 20th Faldo Series Grand Final.
Recognised as the only global amateur series for boys and girls, the Faldo Series was established in 1996, expanding to Asia in 2006.
