Leading golf footwear innovator, ECCO® Golf, has announced the introduction of ECCO CAGE EVO, a cleated golf shoe that showcases the Danish company’s manufacturing expertise by providing superior walking comfort right out of the box.
Highlighted by the unique combination of a fully-integrated DIP wrap system and a multi-material upper, ECCO CAGE EVO features a performance, PU-structured textile bonded with polyurethane webbing.
Created specifically for ECCO CAGE EVO, this promotes an incredibly comfortable fit while also delivering outstanding protection from the elements.
Symbolising the brand’s spirit of innovation, ECCO CAGE EVO extends the limits of stability, flexibility and cushioning via its unique set of properties which include:
- A unique, one-piece, DIP stability cage that wraps from the heel through the midsole and across the toe box
- An anatomical outsole design that aligns and moves in unison with the foot’s essential ligaments and muscles
- ECCO Freedom Fit which combines a snug heel setting with a roomier forefoot area that allows toes to move naturally
“With ECCO CAGE having been so well-received internationally, we’re extremely excited about the introduction of this lightweight and eye-catching addition to our cleated family,” said Michael Waack, Head of Global Golf at ECCO.
Exceptionally water-repellent as a result of ECCO’s proprietary HYDROMAX® treatment, ECCO CAGE EVO also boasts a lightweight, low-to-the-ground construction, as well as the CHAMP SLIM-Lok cleat system. An integrated, TPU shank that matches the foot’s natural shape provides superior levels of comfort and fit, while a removable inlay sole offers extra width for those who need it.
As is the case with all of the shoes in ECCO Golf’s 2016 Collection, ECCO CAGE EVO is crafted at company-owned factories that utilise the DIP to bond the upper and outsole unit, creating a one-piece shoe without the use of glue or stitching. Benefits include a firm, water-tight seal.
ECCO Golf shoes are worn in competition around the world by Fred Couples, Ernie Els, Peter Hanson, Graeme McDowell, Thomas Bjørn, Thongchai Jaidee, Will Wilcox, Ben Evans, Jim Renner, Minjee Lee, Caroline Masson, Gerina Piller, Jennifer Johnson, Kendall Dye, Pernilla Lindberg, Therese Koelbaek and Liz Young, among others.
